Happy New Year!!!

My Contribution to 3WW

This Week's words: clumsy,fire,overlooked

Ugly becomes beautiful,
Clumsy becomes graceful,

one greets the other with a genuine smile,
the fire, to be ahead, is put-off for a while,

the thought to overlook others, is overlooked,
being hooked to wishes from all,

it's a shame that all of these last,
no furthur than a day's dust...

Kill Him!!!

My contribution to 3 word wednesday.

This week's words are:Closing, Headlights, and Virtual.

Kill Him!! Killll Him!! He just owns 500 sq mts of land, and is stubborn on not selling it to me. Does he think that my hi-tech 7 Star Hotel project would not take off because of an old guy on whom his family and the entire world has give up.. No Way!!! I will not allow my dream project to be shelved off, due to a roadside shopkeeper.. Here take this Gun Silencer, and silence him forever tomorrow at 2 PM, when he closes his petty shop, on that deserted highway....

Next Day at 2:15 PM,

Have you guys reached his place?
Yes Boss.

Remember, after you shoot him, burn him at his shop, and I will buy that ownerless land in the auction.. ha ha ha....
Boss.. Just think that this place is yours, in another 10 mins.. I will shoot him left, right and center.. And why do you have to call us for such small issues.. Just relax Boss..

This is not your damn computerized virtual world!! This is a real world my boy!! Any small mistake, and we would all be doomed..
Boss, he is closing down the shop.. Driver, start the car now.. Boss he should be dead in another 10 seconds..

10... 9... 8... 7... 6...
Oh No!! There is a police patrol van coming on this road.. Crap!!!

Oh God!!! Hide the Gun!!!

PoliceMan: Hey!!! Are you nuts, will anyone drive a car with the headlights on at 2 in the afternoon? Show me your License.. And You.. What's that??? A Gun!!! Hands UP!!

another step up....

Good Morning AAAfffficerrrr!!! This is the famous dialogue Koundamani(Private Agent) delivers to Senthil (RTO Officer) in the movie "Indian". I used to feel that the RTO Corruption they had shown in the movie was a bit exaturated, but not any more...

Today was the day I had to take the DL test.. The Driving Training School, did not ask me for extra money to bribe the officer..and I didn't want to do it too.. (Had been practising to reverse the car, changing gears quickly etc pretty intensely yesterday). We(other prospective road killers) reached the park (test centre), and our agent asked us to stand in a line.. And all of a sudden he shouted 'Good Morning AAAfffficerrrr!!!' and the worst was he expected us to greet the "Aafficer" too. The AAAffficer asked us to drive the vehicle for mere 300 metres which involved the following activities..

(i) start the car
(ii) Shift the gear to second gear from the first
(iii) Take a left turn, and stop the car.

that's it, my DL Test was completed successfully.. Little did i realize that I had bribed him 6 months ago, when I joined the Driving School itself...

anyways, I have my DL now.. started planning for the weekend trips... at this junction i just need to thank a couple of people who have motivated me get this..
aki, who ensured that i got a LLR last year, and guru along with him for torturing me, every single morning on the fact that my LLR got expired and i showed no interest to get it re-newed nor appearing for the test, and finally chells who ensured that I too bought the car along with him.. :)

i need to thank you guys for increasing my average monthly expense.. anyways, i have started to enjoy my driving, it is no more a burden or an additonal skill rather... this seems to be a good hobby...

another step up.. :)

she....

When I first saw her I was stunned,
when she first spoke to me, I was stumped,

We went for a short ride,
then, she was forever on my side,

all saw only problems in her,
I only saw the potential in her,

unhappy, they still point out issues,
but in love, i treat them as tissues,

when she starts behaving herself, she is poetic,
but when she is heated up, handling her is pretty hectic,

engagement was last week, marriage is next week,
but our honeymoon has started this week,

if you have already seen us, thanks for your wishes,
if you haven't, pray to god, that we don't bump into you..

Tagged - 8 -things about me...

Tagged by Biju..

Biju thanks for making me realize that I don't have any funny habits..

(i) I ensure that I go to the Railway station or/and Bus Stand of each and every city I visit. And If possible have the special food delicacy from the Railway Canteen. - "Curd Rice".
(ii) My sleep posture is either in form of the alphabet "C" or"G". And I generally never remember anything that happens during my sleep. I would have opened my house door, answered phone calls, but if you ask me any of these after I get up, wouldn't remember a single thing..
(iii) I can speak non-stop on anything, when on a highly excited state. (ofcourse , I am speaking about the non-alcoholic state)
(iv) When I am bored, I just board the bus, buy a daily pass and keep travelling..As I have mentioned earlier, I am pretty eager at visiting bus stations.. I would be thinking on various stuffs, but generally it's the same old story of me playing cricket and winning the match by either scoring some 20 odd runs of the last over or by bowling in the death overs, and scalping some 3-4 wickets.. Only the venue and the players I play against would change..
(v) When I am in a nervous state, I just cannot sleep.. Be it a presentation the next day or an university exam or anything... Once the event is over, I can sleep continuosly for 20 - odd hours.. My all time record being, not sleeping for 48 hours before the exam, and sleeping contiuosly for 24 hours after the exam.
(vi) I keep changing the bed spreads. It would always reflect my mood of that hour.. Dull, bright, dirty, extra clean etc..
(vii) I always prefer to have a bath when I feel like, and not on every morning compulsion.
(viii)When irritated with myself or others, I go for long walks till my legs ache, and then I catch the bus or an auto to return back home..

Now tagging the rest, chells , ck , cp'da , dumbo devi , gandhe, k, prof, sudar and tuby

What a bore!!!

Thank God it's over. The most anticipated event in the cricketing world, was such a bore, that I felt lucky that I did not get tickets to the carribean. Only 4 matches headed for a close finish in a total of 51 games. That shows the quality of the matches... This tournament was completely one-sided, and the aussies were not tested at all.

Hussey, Symonds did not have to bat during any pressure situations, and even worst, hogg, tait, mcgrath and bracken didn't have a chance to bat at all... Australian batting Butchers and the bowling machines fired as expected...

WestIndies played with no passion, SA concentrated on motivating themselves through verbal duesl with others, England was pathetic, NZ just couldn't themselves when it mattered, SL showed some fighting spirit, Bangladesh are moulding themselves to be like SL, and the only refreshing thing in the WC was the way Ireland played. It was so good to watch them bowl.

No comments on Pakistan and India.. I am sure this WC would have ensured, that many fans would have bid farewell to Cricket itself..

What a bore!!!

A Leaf on the torrent.....

At a Macro Level, nothing matters,
At a Micro Level, everything matters,

One can be at any Level,
but it's the oscillation between these levels that makes you think...

FGF...

Wow!!! It is really a wonderful feeling, to see cheerful people, happy faces , listen to good news... It just lifts your spirits...

Happiness is Contagious...

But life is not just full of 'Happiness', so whenever you are down and out, stick on with 'Happy People' and your mood will definitely change..

enjoy maaadiii !!!!!!!!!

p.s: Wondering what FGF is... Keep wondering for a while..

Semi-Finals...

In the past, WC Semi-Finals, have been fascinating to watch...

1992 ---- SA vs England. It is at this match when the Duckword-Lewis Method became very famous.
1992 ---- Pak vs NZ. A young lanky lad called 'Inzy' stole the match away from the tournament
favourites NZ.
1996 ---- Pressure, Bad Luck, call it whatever, WZ lost the match in the last few minutes of the
closing stages to Australia.. What a match it was!!!
1996 ---- Ind Vs SL. Well it wasn't exactly a close match, but it was dramatic with the crowd
playing a part in deciding the winner.
1999 ---- Aus vs SA.. Termed as the "Match of the millenium" by many... It was indeed
heartbreaking for the SA..
2003 ---- Aus vs SL. Some lusty blows from Bret Lee at the end of the innings set the match for
Aus.

And now it's time to stage the 2007 WC semis...
Arguebly the four best teams in WC had qualified to the Semis. The stage was set for a grand WC final rounds.

But... NewZealand and SouthAfrica had other plans... They both haven't won a WC yet or rather haven't even qualified to the finals yet.. They both wanted to create history and they at the end did create it...

What a one-sided game both were... Rather than stating that SL and Aus won, I would say, NZ and SA gifted the match to their opponents...

I just hope that the final wouldn't be one-sided...

Who is the one-day Champion? Countdown begins...

3 High-Quality Cricket matches in the space of 5 days... Well, my week is already made... I hope these matches live up to the expectations, of the millions of cricket fans.. Ever since India is out of the WC, I am enjoying the rest of the matches...

After some 3o odd days of cricket, we have 4 teams for the semis now.. So far, I have got all my predictions wrong. :) So, not planning to predict any furthur.. :(

1st Match: NZ vs SL:
If SL bats first, and scores around 230, we would have an amazing match in out hands...

Interesting duels to watch out for.

(i) Shane Bond vs Sanath Jayasurya
(ii) Muralidharan vs Jacab Oram
(iii) Malinga vs Ross Taylor

2nd Match: Aus vs SA:

I hate both these teams, so would just hope this match would be thriller, and not one-sided.. I feel these guys play the game very professionally, but without any passion.

(i) Australian Buthcers vs SA Bowling Machine
(ii) SA Butchers vs Australian Bowling Machine

On another cricketing Note, Wishing our "Little Master", a very happy birthday... I am sure, he will be back with a bang!!!

you only get what you deserve....

Tring Tring.. Tring Tring.. tringtringtringtringtringtringtring...

Oh crap!!! The alarm was ringing, and it brought my dream to an abrupt end. The time was 4 AM, and my Shatabdi train to chennai, was scheduled to depart from Bangalore City Junction at 6 AM, and hence I decided to have a short nap,and planned to catch the 5 '0' clock BMTC bus to Majestic.

allllllah ohhhhhh akbaaarrrrrrr...... (I live close by a mosque, and the prayers had just begun.)

What'sss the time??????? It was 5:28... Oh no.. I just have 32 mins, can I make it to the station.. I just went out, and asked my roomie, if he could drop me to the station in the bike, and he had just got up and wondering what was happening, and he really didn't know the route, so i decided to take an auto.. I was sure that i would miss it, but what's wrong in giving it a shot.. Efforts Never Fail..

I took my e-ticket, id-card ( last time I wasn't allowed to travel in Shatabdi, because I forgot to take my id-card along with me, and the TTE demanded to me pay the entire fare, which incidently I didn't have and hence did not board..)wallet, and just washed my faced and ran down the road.. It was 5:34...

An auto came by, and the driver was a pretty old man, and I thought he will never make it to the station by 6 AM, and hence waited for another auto to come by. another one came, and it's driver was a man in his mid 30's and he initially demanded half-my train ticket fare, and then we settled for the auto meter to give the final verdict on the fare. It was 5:38..

I told the autowala, that I had to catch the train in 20 minutes, and luckily he took it as a challenge and accelerated as much as he could, while I was guiding him on the shortest route he had to take.. He flew over the bumpers,pot-holes, and I felt bad that the auto was getting hit because of my stupidity/laziness. I remembered that Shadabti stops at Bangalore Cantontment too, or is it only the trains that go towards bangalore City Junction stops, and not the ones that leaves the City Junction.. I asked the autowala to wait for a second, and took some 5 seconds, and decided to go to the City Junction.. It was 5:42..

With the speed at with the autowala was going, I could caculate that he would reach the Railway Station(which is 13 kms from my place) in a whopping 20 mins, which means I would reach the station around 5:58, and I might just be able to catch the train. But when we reached near Lalbagh, a stupid TN bus, stopped the bus in the middle of the road(he could have stopped it on the bus-bay instead blocking the entire onward going vechicles.), and the passengers were getting down, and that wasted my 30 precious seconds.. It was 5:48..

I initially agreed to the auto driver that I would pay him 1.5 times the amount shown in the meter, and I decided to pay him twice the meter amount for his effort, and acknowledging the fact that if I was to ever catch the train, it would solely be only because of him.. Now the pressure was mounting, will I make it or not.. 10 minutes earlier I had no hope, but now anything could happen.. It was 5:52..

Now I was wondering as from platform will this train depart. History told me that it was platform 5, but I wasn't too sure, hence I had planned to ask a Porter( this would save some precious seconds from getting the same info from the Display system available at the station). I also planned to take the sub-way to platform 5 rather than the over-bridge as the sub-way would take me to departing end of the platform, and if ever the train was moving, it would come towards me, and i could just hop into the train. If i take the over-bridge then i would need to run behind the train.. It was 5:54..

The money was out from my wallet much before we reached the station, and as the auto reached the station, I gave him the money, and thanked him and told him that if ever I catch the train it would solely be due to him.. Even though I was in a hurry, those 5 seconds I took, made us both feel happy. It was 5:57..

I ran(for 500 metres) like a mad guy, shouting for people to give me way, and on the way I checked with the porter, and he told me Chennai Shatabdi was departing from platform 6. Now I was confused, hence decided to look at the Display System, which showed me that it was indeed departing from platform 6. It was 5:58..

hold on..............

But the clock on the station showed 6:00.. Crap!!!! and I heard the announcement of Shatabdi departing from platform 6 while I was stranded in platform 1. I made another mad rush towards the subway.. My heart was pounding very heavily.. Will I make it or not... I climbed up the stairs, and was in platform 6 now.... Forget the time, it no longer makes any sense.

dhak dhak... dhak dhak... dhak dhak...

As I climbed up, the train was moving, and I could only get to the last carriage, and I asked the Guard who was busy waving the green flag, whether it was the Shadabti train, and God knows what he heard, he pointed his finger towards platform 7, and my heart just sanked in immediate depression.. and as that train moved away, the guy next to me told me, the train which I just missed was indeed Chennai Shatabdi, and the Guard pointed towards platform 7, thinking I was asking for Jana-Shatabdi(which was scheduled to depart a few hours later...)

I was hoping that Mother EARTH would just swallow me, and was wondering where I wasted those precious 5 seconds..So close yet so far..

Happy New Year!!!

Wishing everyone a wonderful 2007...
phew... As always time just flies.. just can't believe that 2006, has passed by..

let me see, if i have fulfilled the previous resoulutions..

1) I will be in search of my lost friends...there are few of them whom I last saw 10 years ago, and would love to meet them next year..

-- Well being in search of others, i have lost a current few.. I am seriously not in touch with many of my fellow blogger friends..

2) try to think less... for example if you feel like not working a day, then I should just apply for leave, instead of thinking of the pros and cons of taking leave and finally go to work..

-- Forget thinking less.. I hardly think these days.. my 2007 resolution should be to think...and only to think

3) join a sport club, and also search a bakra who would play squash with me everyday.

-- i didn't join any sport club, but i did find a few bakras @office, and I have been regularly playing TT..

4) i will invite my chotta cousins to bangalore and take them around the city.

-- my chotta cousins did come to bangalore, and we had some really good time.. only problem is that i relaized that they are no more chotta..:)

5) i should get back to my touring mania, this year i was out only for 10 days..
-- if i have done anything well in 2006, it is to do with my touring.. i have taken 8 mini trips to different places.

a) allepey, athirapalli falls and fort kochi
b) hampi
c) vijayawada
d) thaneer mukkam and kumarakom
e) langkawi and kuala lampur
f) goa
g) gokak falls
h) pondy

and not to forget the various places i visited during my friend's marriage and receptions..

well if you work hard, you have the right to take these small vacations.. surprisingly none of it has been a 5-day (or more) vacation.

6) Last but not least, i need to work on removing the negative/impure stuffs from me..
-- couldn't do much about it.. still the same..

2006 has seen me write 25 published posts and 5 saved drafts.. this is been pretty satisfying for me.. also have learnt a couple of new skills (dancing and driving).. read quite a lot of books.. i have moved to a new team effective today.. i have sensed a change in my mindset towards life..

hopefully 2007 will be a year filled with different other activities... :)

Once again wishing you guys a happy new year!!! and do the stuffs you would really love to do..

p.s: people often ask what's so great about a new year, it is just another day.. well when most of us feel good on a day for no real reason then why not just spread the happiness.. sometimes we shouldn't keep reasoning for each and every activity..
