Moron....

A friend of mine was called by his friend(e) a "MORON".

Now what does this word mean? Where did it get its' origin from?

More + On = Moron.

If someone is very desperate and wants more on something, he/she calls the other person a moron
If someone is very desperate and wants less on something, he/she calls the other person a leson. (This word is not being used by many as by nature everyone are greedy and want only more.....)

My other definitions(this list will keep growing)
dame + on = damn (If you are after a dame for a while, you would be damned at the end).

If someone can ever think of superimposing Tamil grammatical disintegration-derivation logic to English words, it's just you, Skely!! ROFTL...
One request... Dont even think of showing this to your English teacher... poor soul might commit suicide!

My Two penny worth: Sick would be see+kick ie, if u "see", u will get a kick and so, u will be sick!

Lick= Leech+kick => if the leech kicks you, you will lick the wound!

Will continue with other words, as and when the encyclopedia would allow me!

This word was actually voted into the English language. It dates back to 1910, when a convention was held for the American Association for the Study of the Feeble Minded. While trying to come up with a a name for the people they were studying, one of the delegates suggested the word moron. Moron was a dim-witted, central character in a famous play (at the time) by the playwright Moliere.
