I think there is logical flaw in the above quote..how can i imagine, without knowledge..I mean the knowledge of anything..say if I want to imagine as flying, I need to know what is flying..only then I can imagine it..so me think knowledge is more basic, on which Imagination is built...can u give the source of these quotes too?
Only if you imagine about something, one will be interested in it and try to get the knowledge about it.
What is happening these days is, people are not imagining but learning/memorizing the knowledge (book/internet materials) to be more knowledgeble and later feel they are not using it to their potential..
On the other hand, if you imagine, then you go obtaining the knowledge you will always be self-motivated to do try out various things...
What do you say krish?
BTW the great man is albert einstien. Site is http://www.quotationspage.com/quotes/Albert_Einstein/
I guess what the quote means is - just having knowledge is not good, you need to apply it to make it useful. The application is in the form of imagination.

So, application is important thing of all!
On the second quote ,
A man of value is of course very important but so as man of success. So better be both in today's world.
I think your explanation is valid, but feel you are missing my point here!..May be we wil have a chat sometime!
:) whenever I comeacross this quote "Man of value and man of success" I seem to fitin Roark and Keating of The Fountainhead so easily.
